TradeSkills4U are the UK’s largest electrical trainer. They needed a new website to reflect their changing and evolving business and to support their marketing and sales activity.

Why they chose BCQ.

Recommended to BCQ, Tradeskills wanted a company to look at the whole web presence and put together a platform which considered all aspects of the user experience. The finished site needed to maximise sales conversions, whilst making the user interface engaging, modern and reflective of the business they are and attractive to the audience they wanted to appeal to.

We analysed every aspect of the Tradeskills site to understand how users were interacting with it, where they were dropping off and where they were spending time.

We spoke to key decision makers to understand their business, what they stood for, why they matter and their promise to their customers. We took time to understand their customers and how they were feeling when looking to invest in an electrical training course, whether they were new to the industry or an existing electrician.

Our insight allowed us to develop sitemaps, wireframes, visuals and working prototypes in conjunction with the client. Using a sprint methodology we worked closely with Tradeskills4U, regularly updating the client on progress and including them in discussions during the design and development of the site.

The outcome.

As the site was already generating good revenue the aim was to create a number of small uplifts to key metrics in order to positively impact ROI. In the three months following launch, our work created an immediate impact. We increased returning users by 10%, new users by 12%, sessions by 8%, key pageviews by 17%, and a reduction in bounce rate of -3%.
