Annually, the RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) hold a number of live ceremonial events to celebrate the achievements of the veterinary profession. Covid-19 meant these could not happen, so the RCVS turned to us to help put together virtual events instead.
The RCVS wanted to create engaging events which didn’t turn into, what felt like, another video call for the viewer.
They wanted to keep the sense of occasion and importance for attendees, winners and speakers, despite being in their own home.
A series of bespoke animations and videos were created to support the speakers and award winners. Each of the stylised hand-drawn animations were voiced and accompanied the presentation of awards to category winners, as well as acting as a backdrop to the presenters and their introductions.
Working closely with the RCVS, we fully managed the events and the broadcasting, including the live streams, event production and speaker liaison.
The streams of the events hosted to date have had over 700 live views, 3,800 views and more than 10,000 impressions in the 30 days following them. This far exceeds the 500 who would have attended the face-to-face events in normal circumstances.
